SeaPod for crews
SeaPod is Orca AI’s AI-powered lookout for the bridge. It uses visual and thermal cameras and navigation data to track nearby vessels and objects, including small craft without reliable AIS. It helps officers assess risks earlier and maintain an independent visual view when positioning or AIS data is unreliable.
Identify targets, including vessels, small craft, fishing boats, and buoys without reliable AIS, even during challenging conditions like fog, rain, darkness, glare, and icy waters
Officers can remain focused on navigation and minimize alert fatigue through automatic day/thermal switching, context-aware alerting, and clear visual and audio notifications.
Bring target classification, CPA/TCPA, speed, course, and risk-based alerts into one clear bridge view so officers can focus on the contacts that require attention. with the support of a navigation assistant.
Vessels in close proximity, Parana River
Fishing vessel, North Atlantic waters off Spain
Voyage in congested waters, Bitter Lake Egypt
With / Without Orca AI
SeaPod continuously processes the visual scene around the vessel and organizes it around operational relevance. From open water to congested approaches, it gives the bridge team an additional, independent source of awareness while recording navigational events for later review, debriefing, and shore-side analysis.
SeaPod 360° reduces blind spots, bringing overtaking vessels, nearby small craft, and potential security threats into one view. Officers can follow what’s happening around the vessel without losing sight of what’s ahead, with 360° daytime visibility and thermal coverage of 100° ahead and astern.
SeaPod uses five day cameras, three thermal cameras, and AI to detect, identify, and track vessels and objects ahead. It shows officers which contacts need attention and the information needed to assess the risk.
Operational modes adjust alert behavior for different environments, helping reduce context-irrelevant notifications in ports, canals, traffic separation schemes, restricted visibility, and other defined operating conditions. The result is a more relevant safety layer that supports the watch without replacing required bridge systems or procedures.
